Army Inter Unit Championships 2022

Congratulations to 3 Regt AAC Men's team and and 11 Sig Regt Women's team on their respective wins at the Army Team Championships 2022 which were held at Longmoor on 25 & 26 May 22.  In the build up to the competition, two coaching sessions were held Hogmoor and Longmoor which were attended by over 50 competitors, the majority of whom were novices.  These sessions undoutedly helped those who participated with the technical challenges posed by the planner, Colin Dickson controlled by Colin Metcalfe.  On Day 1 over 180 personnel from 30 Unit teams tackled the Spanish Score on the west of the Longmoor training area.  On Day 2, the planner had another excellent test of team navigation in the Harris relay on Longmoor East; the technically more demanding part of the training area which had been entirely re-mapped by Charles Bromley-Gardner originally for the cancelled 2020 champs.

In the Long course competition, 3 Regt AAC came from being runners-up in 2021 to claim the Long title (previously the Major Unit competition); HQ ARRC claimed the Runner-Up trophy.  Last years female champions, 204 Fd Hosp who were also the 2019 champions, defended their title valiantly however, they were beaten by 11 Sig Regt women's team, their first win at Army level since 2007.  The Short competition (previously Minor Units) was won by 15 Sig Regt and the Under 25 title was won by 3 Sig Regt.  In the Masters competition, HQ 101 Op Sust Bde held onto a clear lead from day 1 on the short course to win the Masters title.  The full results are available in the results section under 'Championships'.  The historical list of Inter-Unit AOA Champions is listed on page 4 of this document:

Look forward to the Inter Corps Championships this winter and the Army Team Champs 2023 in May next year.
