A series of leadership lectures will be delivered during 2019 by prominent sports men and women from across a number of sporting disciplines, which may be useful. They will take place in Montgomery House, Aldershot with the first lecture on Fri 11 Jan 19 at 1100hrs delivered by Katy Parott who is an Ultra-Athlete.
Katy will be talking about what motivated her as an Ultra-Athlete including her experiences including the BBC series Special Forces and Ultimate Hell Week in 2016 which sent her on a totally unexpected trajectory. She will talk about what now motivates her to say ‘yes’ and her drive to challenges and adventures she never thought were possible. During her talk, she’ll share her experiences of running 100km along the Cotswold Way in June in memory of a friend – a challenge that took every inch of her physical and mental strength (as well as 7 of her toe nails). She will also discuss why these experiences led to her joining the Army Reserves and how leadership keeps her retained.
The event will conclude 1140hrs after a Q&A session.
