The current MLS Secretary, SSgt Jamie Ranson, is leaving the Army shortly.  Therefore the position will become vacant post the MLS Prize Giving event on Wednesday 07 Jun 2017.  A copy of the duties and responsibilities are attached.  Anyone interested in taking on this very rewarding and challenging position should contact the MLS Secretary by or telephone (military 94344 5531 or civilian number 01980 615531).

I start running the Pennine Way (270 miles) on Sat 11th March 2017 (only 5 days away), I am doing it solo and carrying everything I need for 7 days (if it goes into 8 days, I will starve lol). I will be wild camping using the good old army basha and eating ORP, now that’s what I call a holiday.

In the past I've collated weekly results by hand, a process that took around 4 hours per event, which is no longer sustainable. Thanks to some outstanding work by Terry Smith (SOC) that time is now down to under an hour. All results are now processed using the runner's Regtl or BOF number; if your entry in the EMIT system doesn't have that number you won't appear in the league resultts table. If that happens you won't get any points and neither will your team. 

About 35 soldiers travelled to the technically challenging area of Merthyr Mawr for the AOA sponsored 2016 Army Individual orienteering championships.  The AOA would like to thank SBOC for allowing the competition to take place within their Welsh Championships.  The results were as follows:

The final details for this weekend's competition have been issued by the organiser and start times allocated. See for details.  Entrants are asked to stick with their allocated times and disregard the prizegiving time on the orginal Ex ASTUTE RUNNER details.  Prizegiving will be in the building at the event centre at approx 14;30hrs, subject to all runners being finished.  This timing is immediately prior to the Welsh Champs prizegiving.  Competitors are asked to remain for  Army prizegiving please.

Public Health England would like to invite you to a Tick Awareness Workshop. The workshop is to let people know a bit more about a project that we ran last year, exploring awareness in groups that had been classified as high risk. These groups included people who spent lots of time outdoors and potentially more exposed to ticks, for example, walkers, cyclists or people who work in the countryside.
